When we speak about developing, it mostly focuses on sustainable development in urban area. There are three pillars of sustainability – economic viability, environmental protection and social equity.
Environmental sustainability is about acting in a way that ensures future generations have the natural resources available to live an equal, if not better, way of life as current generations. These actions include making a people friendly environment, promoting easy and eco-friendly mobility, building an infrastructure and economy that do not directly impact the nature environment.
In order to develop, we need technology and natural resources, but the raising matter is how to incorporate human development into nature one. The problem occurs because the more infrastructure we build in order to develop our cities, the more we harm the nature, the more we try to improve the economy, production, the more the nature gets hurt. We destroy the fields, the forests, waters to make human settlement.
We have the opportunity to develop city at a social level, achieve gender balance, fight racism, integrate youth, integrate migrants, promote mobility. One of the primary means we have to promote mobility is to promote peace and removing stereotypes.
To have developed cities, we need to develop the mind set of their population. Make it open for changes and educated about the world and its possibilities. By changing the mind, we are changing the world.
Our strategy is organizing workshops for education addressed youth, adults and elders. Spread the knowledge about ecology, urban development and starting from the individual change, make global changes. Social development is our goal and that is the first step to make a better society and create a peaceful future.
