Desire to return to nature during the pandemic process

Desire to return to nature during the pandemic process

Covid-19 affected the whole world and closed us all to homes. It carried our lives to completely different dimensions. Speaking specifically in Turkey, millions of people could not leave their homes, schools and offices were closed. In a way, life stopped. Even this situation helped to clean the air and keep the nature a little more clean.

Due to the fact that humans are social beings, this situation has caused a psychological damage to all people. It showed us the importance of just being able to walk on the street and be able to travel outdoors. After realizing that this process was not short, most people wanted to change many situations during this time, from what they could change in their lives, to the condition of their homes, to the neighborhood they lived in. Previously, working people could be at home for 6, 7 hours a day. Since the concept of home office came to the fore after the pandemic, they now spend all their time at home. Among them, the most popular request is that people who stay at home during quarantine periods want to return to nature. Those who did not want to be stuck at home went to villages, forests, in short, to nature environments where they would not be restricted, they could breathe fresh air and most importantly, they could find peace.

Those who returned to their homes at the end of their quarantine were tired of city life, city chaos and a had difficulty adjusting. As a result, everyone showed a demand for a house with a garden or a greenhouse away from the city. People who used to go to the forests and picnic areas only on weekends before, after the pandemic, we realized that nature is not just a place to go and see, green is nature is life and peace is itself.

Covid-19 has changed many situations in the world, as well as people’s love for nature. We have understood the importance of the forest, nature and green and I hope we will not forget it for a long time.
