The main requirement is that all staff and educators must be workers or regular workers of the sending organization.

Activities supported by the programme

All activities will be done abroad, in the Programme Country.

The KA1 VET programme englobes a wide range of activities. These must be inclusive, diverse, sustainable with the environment, promote digital skills, internationalization, development and equal learning opportunities.

The list of activities include:

For staff mobility

  • Participation in skills competitions (1 to 10 days)
  • Short-term learning mobility of VET learners (10 to 89 days)
  • Long-term learning mobility of VET learners (ErasmusPro) (90 to 365 days)

Other activities for all participants

  • Job shadowing (2 to 60 days)
  • Teaching or training assignments (2 to 365 days)
  • Courses and training (2 to 30 days)
  • Other activities

How to apply to the programme:

VET teachers and staff can apply to short- term projects and accredited projects.

  • Short-term projects for mobility of learners and staff

Short-term projects for mobility of learners and staff are the best option for newcomer organizations in Erasmus + programmes. Short-term projects last from 6 to 18th months and they receive funding for the time of the project duration.

  • Accredited projects for mobility of learners and staff

This second type of projects are ideal for organizations that are engaged with the Erasmus + programmes at a long term. The funding is regular; it is given gradually and indeterminately. Only organizations that have Erasmus accreditation for VET can participate. If your organization is interested in organising mobility programmes regularly it can apply for the Erasmus accreditation for VET. The good news is that you don’t need previous Erasmus + experience for it.

Aims of the VET programme

There are two main goals of the programme. The first is increasing the quality of initial and continuing vocational education and training (IVET and CVET). The second aim is to foster European values through education and training.

More specific goals are learning transversal competences and skills and preparing people for their professional career. Training staff and educators is necessary for innovation, digitalization and internationalization. Internationalization and cooperation between teachers, staff and organizations from different countries is fostering inter-EU partnerships. At the long run it is contributing to creating a European Education Area

Teaching educators and staff with European values of inclusion, diversity, tolerance, democracy and active political and social participation is making a great impact over European societies. It shows how European diversity is compatible with European values and principles.
